ReNventory is an inventory app for resellers, made by Rebooty Treasures LLC (“we”, “us”), a Florida limited liability company. This policy explains what we collect when you use the ReNventory app and website, why, who helps us run the service, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what’s needed to run your inventory, we don’t sell it, we don’t show ads, and you can delete it.
What we collect
Your account
- Your email address, the username and name you choose, and your password (stored only as a secure hash; we can’t see it).
- Your settings, such as your SKU format and inventory tabs.
Your inventory
- What you enter about items and lots: titles, costs, sources, storage locations, notes, barcodes, SKUs, stages, sale prices and where items sold, death pile reasons, and the history of stage changes.
- One intake photo per item. Photos are resized and compressed on your phone before they’re uploaded. They may show whatever was in the frame, so avoid photographing people or personal documents.
When you scan a barcode
To fill in a title, the barcode number (UPC or ISBN), and only that number, is looked up with Open Library (books) or UPCitemdb (other products). Results are cached so the same barcode isn’t looked up twice. Nothing about you or your account is sent with the lookup.
The waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we store your email address, whether you asked for news and tips, when you signed up, and whether you confirmed.
What we don’t collect
- No location tracking. The app doesn’t ask for your location.
- No advertising or tracking cookies, and no analytics scripts on the website.
- No contacts, microphone or other phone data. The camera is used only while you’re taking an item photo or scanning a barcode.
How we use it
- To run the service: storing and syncing your inventory between your devices, assigning SKUs, computing your dashboard, and signing you in.
- To email you: sign-in codes and account messages; for the waitlist, the confirmation email, your invitation, and news and tips only if you opted in.
- To learn whether ReNventory is useful: during the beta we count how many items each account logs per week, from the inventory data itself. We use it only to improve the product.
- To keep things working and secure: fixing errors, preventing abuse, and keeping backups.
We don’t sell your information, we don’t share it for advertising, and we don’t use your inventory data to compete with you.
Who helps us run ReNventory
These companies process data on our behalf, only to provide their part of the service:
| Service | What it does |
|---|---|
| Supabase (on Amazon Web Services, United States) | Database, sign-in, photo storage and server functions |
| Cloudflare | Website hosting, domain name service, and our encrypted off-site backups |
| Resend | Sending email |
| GitHub | Runs our nightly backup job (data passes through, encrypted, and isn’t kept there) |
| Open Library, UPCitemdb | Barcode title lookups (barcode numbers only) |
| Apple, Google | App distribution through their app stores and test programs |
When we add crash reporting (Sentry) or the eBay connection, we’ll update this policy first. The eBay connection will only ever be used if you choose to connect your account. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the service.
Where it’s stored and how long we keep it
- Your data is stored in the United States and encrypted in transit. Only you can read your inventory; our database rules keep every account’s data separate.
- We keep your data while you have an account.
- We keep daily and nightly encrypted backups so a technical problem can’t lose your inventory. Database backups are deleted after 30 days.
- Waitlist entries are kept until the beta opens to you or you ask us to remove them.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account: from the app (Settings › Account) or by emailing us. Your account, inventory and photos are removed from our live systems right away, and from backups within 30 days.
- Get a copy, or correct your data: most of it you can see and edit in the app; for anything else, email us.
- Emails: every news email has an unsubscribe link. Account messages (like sign-in codes) are needed to use the service.
ReNventory is a business tool for adults and isn’t meant for anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect data from children; if you think a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before the change applies.
